Should Be Writing...

..but spent hours mooning over the photo of my cats. I know, I'm going to be the crazy cat lady. But don't really care. I miss my cats. *whimper*

Other than that, writing is going good. Sometimes you need to take a step back from what you're writing and let it simmer inside your head for a little. You will find several angles and facets to plots or characters that you wouldn't have found if you wrote full speed, sure you tend to have to edit what you've written but it's worth it. Your story will be richer for it. Of course, taking a step back often is followed by procrastination so you have to watch yo'self. 

Do laundry, wash the dishes, sweep the floor, maybe exercise to clear out the cobwebs inside your cluttered brain, do something trivial, something that moves your body but don't really need you to fully engaged your brain so you can mull over something that's iffy with your story. 

It works. Trust me.

Life has been...pretty stagnant really. But then again I can count on one hand on the many times I actually went out since I moved. The only human contact--if you can call it that--is through the internet and I'm cool with that as I'm not into a whole lot of, you know, that.

But, to be honest, since I have so much time on my hands, perversely, my writing has suffered. Apparently, my best writing happens when I'm under pressure. Without pressure, without a time limit, I tend to play around. Now I have to set a time limit for myself, but I'm not really good with discipline. 

Favorite Songs: Songs that I listen to on repeat.

Jason Reeves is one of my favorite artists, his songs are simple but gorgeously played and written. I tend to listen to him when I want to relax and have a cup of tea or write a scene where my characters are relaxing and having tea or just sharing a quiet moment with each other.

Photograph's and Memories is one of my favorites from his album "The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache", the song is whimsical and sweet and kind of sad and filled with longing

My two sisters are off on a trip for two full days.

TIME TO START WRITING!!!!

Then the blackout happened. The electricity just came on and now I have to sleep. I think. Right after rewatching The Avengers.

I KNOW, WHERE IS MY WILL POWER?

Apparently, it died when MUSE flippantly decided to change the personality of main male character on the book that I've been writing for 2 1/2 months.

At first I was all SCREW YOU, MUSE, YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME and decided to persevere on my first draft....but Muse is being a bitch about it.

So I have to start all over again.
